Appointed because of their commitment to WWF’s mission, their standing in the community and their ability to contribute to our success, WWF’s Governors are the voting members of WWF-Australia.
Governors use their expertise, influence and networks to enhance WWF’s ability to achieve its programs in Australia and the region. Governors bring a diverse range of skills, influence and expertise to the governance of the organisation. They act as champions for the organisation, and are from backgrounds as varied as science and research, business, PR, marketing, legal and governance. Many Governors contribute to internal working groups and provide strategic advice across the organisation.
Governors are initially appointed for a four-year term, which may be renewed.
New Governors can be nominated by current Governors, and appointed by the Board of Directors, with appointments ratified at the Annual General Meeting.
WWF-Australia has around 80 Governors.
